What should I bring to the spa?
To make your visit even more enjoyable, you’ll be provided with a signature Manor House robe and lido towel. Just a reminder, these robes and towels remain the property of The Manor House. Please make sure you wear appropriate swimwear and flip-flops around the spa.
Robes are available for spa day and break guests only. If you’re here for a treatment-only appointment, a robe won’t be provided. All robes have a discreet security tag – if you’d like to take one home, they’re available for purchase at the hotel or spa reception.
Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle – we’re more than happy to fill it up for you at the start of your spa experience.
-
What’s the spa’s etiquette?
The Spa at The Manor House is designed to be a retreat for tranquillity and relaxation. While we understand the excitement of catching up with friends, we kindly ask that you help us maintain a peaceful atmosphere for all guests.
- Please keep mobile phones on silent and minimise taking calls.
- When in the relaxation lounge or treatment corridor, please keep voices to hushed tones.
- Photos and filming are not permitted in the changing areas or treatment rooms.
Thank you for helping us create a serene and soothing environment for everyone to enjoy.
-
How old do you have to be to use the spa?
Our spa is a peaceful, adults-only retreat, so we ask that all guests are 18 years or older. We want to create a relaxing, tranquil atmosphere, and we appreciate your understanding!
-
What time should I arrive?
To keep things running smoothly, here’s what you need to know before you arrive:
- Spa days – Arrive at your selected time to meet your host and get a quick tour before you unwind. Running late? We’ll do our best to accommodate, but it may impact your schedule, and a host might not always be available.
- Spa breaks – Check in at hotel reception, but your spa experience may start before that. If you have spa afternoon access, we’ll do our best to check you in early.
- Spa treatments – Please arrive on time and let the host know you’re here.
We know delays happen, and we’ll always try to be flexible. But if you’re running late, your treatment time may be shortened, and in some cases, we may not be able to honour certain parts of your booking. Unfortunately, our Cancellation Policy still applies, and we’re unable to offer refunds.
We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to welcome you!

What should I wear?
For spa days and breaks, we’ll kit you out with a robe, towel, and flip flops – but if you’d rather bring your own, feel free! While robes and towels stay with us, the flip flops are yours to keep, on the house.
Just a quick note: please wear appropriate swimwear around the spa.
Robe hire:
- Available for spa day and break guests only.
- Not included for treatment-only appointments.
- All robes have a discreet security tag (so they don’t wander off with you!).
-
Is there food and drink available?
Food & drinks at the spa:
- If your spa day or break includes food or drinks, we’ll confirm everything when you arrive – including any reservation times.
- Check out what’s on the menu, here.
- Staying over? If you're booked on a spa break, you’ll need to change out of your robe before heading to Stables Bar & Grill for dinner.
- Got any allergies or dietary needs? Let us know before your meal so we can take care of it.
Ordering drinks:
- Fancy an extra drink? Just ask – you can order directly from the spa. We’ll need payment at the time of ordering unless you’ve set up a tab at reception.
- No glass near the wet areas, but don’t worry – we’ve got spa-friendly cups!
- Only drinks bought here can be enjoyed in the spa.
- We run a Challenge 25 policy, so if you’re lucky enough to look under 25, bring some ID.
And just a little heads-up – we want everyone to have a relaxing time, so if things get too lively, we might have to step in. Keep it chill, and we’ll all have a great time!

Will medical conditions stop me from using the spa?
If you have any of the following medical conditions, we strongly recommend that you check with your doctor before booking a spa experience with us:
- Cancer
- Heart condition
- High/low blood pressure

We also advise guests who are pregnant, have had surgery in the last six months, have concerns about allergies, or have had chemotherapy or radiotherapy, a stroke, or have restricted mobility or back problems to get in touch with us at reservations@manorhousealsager.com. We’ll be happy to offer advice on spa treatments and facilities.
You’ll find your intake form in your confirmation email – please make sure you complete it before arrival. This form helps us allocate the right amount of time for your treatment. If it's not completed, we may have to shorten your time with your therapist. Not all treatments are suitable for every guest, so please share any medical conditions or concerns with us. Our therapists are trained to recommend treatments and products suited to your individual needs, including for those who are pregnant or living with certain health conditions.
We look forward to helping you relax and enjoy your experience with us.

Can I book a treatment on its own?
You can book a treatment on its own. If you're attending the spa for a treatment only, please arrive a little early. As robes are only provided for spa day and break guests, please wear comfortable clothing so you can relax in our relaxation room after your treatment.
-
What can I do if I’m pregnant?
We always recommend avoiding spa facilities and treatments during the first trimester (12 weeks) and within the last two weeks before your due date. If you choose to book during this time, you may be asked to sign an additional disclaimer, and some services may be restricted or unavailable. Please note that no discounts or refunds will be offered in this case.
Spa treatments during pregnancy:
After your first trimester (12 weeks), you can choose from either of our two specialist pregnancy treatments (Yummy Mummy or Mama Love) or one of our facials. Your therapist will adapt the treatment to your needs, adjusting the position of the bed to ensure you are comfortable and supported throughout. If you're under 12 weeks, you’ll need to sign an additional disclaimer, and the therapist may need to modify the treatment further. We always recommend consulting your GP or midwife if you're unsure. If you begin to feel lightheaded, overheated, or nauseous during your treatment, please alert your therapist immediately so they can stop the treatment and ensure your well-being.
Spa access during pregnancy:
You’re welcome to use the spa facilities at your discretion, but we advise consulting your GP or midwife if you have any concerns. Here are some key guidelines:
- Avoid cold experiences such as the ice plunge bath, drench shower, and bucket shower.
- When using thermal experiences with temperatures over 40°C (such as saunas, steam rooms, or hydrotherapy pools), limit your time to 5–10 minutes. Afterward, sit and allow your body to return to a normal temperature while drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- We recommend avoiding the salt shed due to continuous heat and the use of pure essential oils.
- If you feel lightheaded or nauseous while using any facility, alert a member of staff and move to a cooler space. Sit down and drink water to rehydrate.

Spa Privacy Policy
To maintain a peaceful and respectful environment, we kindly remind guests that while phones and cameras are allowed in most areas of the spa, we ask that you be mindful of the privacy and comfort of others.
Please refrain from taking photos or videos that may include other guests without their consent. The hotel is not responsible for the use of personal devices in public areas.
Thank you for helping us create a safe and relaxing atmosphere for all.
